Though the process of awarding winners amongst the thousands of worthy publications each year is fraught with perils of bias, group-think, and ego-centrism, it can sometimes be a useful starting point for discovering a new author or, at least, keeping up with what the industry’s appointed thought leaders deem the most important works of the year.  Books I’ve read are highlighted in blue.
